I currently teach classes with Swing Cotton (swingcotton.com). Classes are taught in English and French. French requirements for a Pass Sanitaire will be followed.

Brian has been enjoying dancing to swing music since 2007 and teaching swing dance since 2017. Brian is from Virginia, USA, currently living in Paris, France to teach swing dance to the vibrant community of Paris. Brian has a deep love for swing music of all types which leads to a comprehensive approach to teaching swing dance. In addition to the basics of swing dance moves and style, Brian focuses on teaching the musicality of swing dance which encourages students to respond to the music through their dance and with their dancing partner.
Through Talenton Dance, Brian provides an opportunity for you to experience the joy of dancing to swing music as an individual or with a dance partner. By learning to swing dance, students build the skills and confidence to enjoy swing music through their dance. Brian provides group classes, individual private lessons, and workshops that advances students from wherever they are at to their fullest potential in dance.
Group Classes
Group classes include multiple students in a group setting with organized lessons for beginner and intermediate students. The weekly classes use a lesson plan to progress students from their current skills to basic swing dance moves to more advanced concepts of musicality and style. The classes are scheduled for a month or multiple months depending on the time of year and interest of the students.
Private Lessons
In private lessons, Brian works with a single student or a couple on individual swing dance needs and techniques. In these private lessons, Brian and the student(s) develop personal plans and approaches to significantly improve the student’s comfort, style, or skill in swing dance. Private lessons are held either in Brian’s home or the student’s home.
Workshops
Workshops are focused times where we work on specific concepts of swing dancing that require more practice in a single setting than the group classes would allow. Workshops typically last for a couple of hours to allow for in depth teaching, demonstration, and practice. Topics may include musicality, leader-follower skills, or specific sets of swing dance moves. Workshops will usually be held on the weekends.
Brian is very friendly and a great instructor. He is very patient with fellow dancers and students. He can see how to individually improve each person’s dancing and gently helps them to achieve their potential. He is extremely appreciated by both his colleagues and his students.
Sue Caley
We have worked with Brian regularly since 2017 and have nothing but positive things to say about Brian, his talent as a swing dancer and instructor and his love for what he does. Brian provides a welcoming and fun atmosphere for the dancers and many of our attendees attend our events because of Brian. He is extremely passionate about swing dancing.
